Now hiring contractual Prevention Educators

This position works as an educator in schools in west-central Indiana teaching grades K-12 body safety and abuse prevention. This opportunity does not offer a set schedule, and hours are not guaranteed.  Candidates must have availability Monday through Friday during school hours, and some travel time around those hours.  This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work, while maintaining their ability to travel and take time off and does not depend on a certain amount per paycheck to meet their personal budget.  Candidates must have strong communication skills, comfortable teaching and working with children and dealing with the topic of child abuse.

Duties include:  

  • Facilitate the Body Safety Plus Program/MBF curriculum in contracted schools and organizations throughout the Susie’s Place service region.  Must be able to travel in west-central Indiana with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Travel is reimbursed in accordance with the Susie’s Place travel reimbursement policy.
  • Must be able to work well with children to conduct 1on 1 victim identification debrief meetings when necessary and appropriate. This includes structured conversations with children who were identified as appropriate at the body safety education classes.
  • Must ensure that all services provided prioritize the needs, comfort, and safety of the child.
  • Must be able to work in stressful situations
  • Must be able to work independently as well as function as a team member and accept guidance and direction from Director.

Pay:  $22.50/hour
