Child and Family Advocate
Jennifer Newman is the child and family advocate for the Terre Haute location of Susie’s Place. Jennifer joined the Susie’s Place staff October 2021. Jennifer has obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Saint Mary’s of the Woods College. Jennifer has been in the social work field for over 20 years serving children and their families.
Jennifer worked at the Department of Child Services as a permanency worker and an assessment worker before joining the Susie’s Place team. She also worked with a community mental health center providing outpatient services to children and families. Jennifer collaborated with probation officers, local law enforcement and worked closely with the Vigo County school system and special education programs in the school. Jennifer assisted families accessing community resources and provided support to the children and families.
When Jennifer is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son or listening to her son play drums. Jennifer enjoys being outside walking her dog and being in her pool. Jennifer and her family also love traveling as much as they can and visiting new places.
