Direct Services Program Manager
Anna Cope is the Direct Service Program Manager at Susie’s Place Child Advocacy Centers. She has a bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University School of Social Work at IU Indianapolis.
Prior to coming to Susie’s Place in 2016, Anna worked several years with the Indiana Department of Child Services, serving in both Marion and Hendricks County. While at DCS, Anna was a mentor and peer coach, assisting in training new family case managers. She successfully completed ChildFirst Arkansas in 2016.
Anna has worked with multidisciplinary teams from across the state of Indiana, and teams across the US. As a forensic interviewer, she has interviewed well over 1,800 children who are reported victims or witnesses in child abuse and neglect investigations. Anna has been a member of the Susie’s Place leadership team since 2021. She guides the direct service staff to provide best practices, trauma-informed forensic interviews, and advocacy. Anna is passionate about helping reported victims by providing excellent services, and to effect positive results to even more children by training others to excel.
Anna joined the ChildFirst Indiana faculty in 2023. Anna also travels to provide trainings to multidisciplinary teams across Indiana and the country. Anna has created several different trainings for forensic interviewers, advocates, and MDT members. Anna partners with Riley Children’s Hospital and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in training medical residents. Lastly, Anna created Oh Crap, it’s a Kid’s Case which has been presented to hundreds of local and state law enforcement representing multiple jurisdictions in Indiana.
Anna is most proud of the family she has created with her husband, which includes their two sons, a cat, and a three-legged dog. Anna and her family are lucky to have the best group of friends. Anna’s family is very active, loves traveling, and is always making new memories together.
