Kelly Hunckler is a Forensic Interviewer at the Bloomington Susie’s Place location. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana State University.  Kelly is certified in the child forensic interviewing protocols of Child First, APSAC, and RADAR. She has more than 20 years of experience working professionally in the field of child welfare. Kelly has completed around 2,000 forensic interviews since coming to Susie’s Place in 2017.

Kelly has worked with many teams across the state of Indiana investigating crimes against children.  She teaches state and local law enforcement in “Oh Crap, it’s a Kid’s Case”, a training designed for first responders. Kelly developed a specialized training on the topic of recantation in child sex abuse cases, and has taught the training to teams from multiple jurisdictions.   

 Kelly’s father was a combat veteran in Vietnam, leading to her patriotism and passion for veteran’s affairs.  She is an active member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 2459. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys camping, golf, and spending time with her loved ones. During football season, you’re sure to find her rooting on her favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Go black and yellow!
